# Plant-Based

Someone who only eats non-sentient plantlike organisms (such as fungi, protists, or true plants) is said to be following a plant-based diet.\
\
This term is sometimes misused to mean *mostly eating plants with some exceptions*, but the original and more useful definition is eating *only* plants.\
\
Sometimes environmentalists or health dieters call themselves vegan when they mean plant-based.\
\
Someone can be either plant-based or vegan, or both - they intersect heavily but are different.
