Fluoride is an essential trace nutrient and a mineral. It is a form of the base element fluorine.
Because insufficient fluoride intake is not typically a problem, no nutritional requirements, and therefore no recommended dietary allowance, have been established. The majority of fluoride sources are from plants, so logically fluoride intake is not a problem for vegans.
