# Sulfur

Dietary sulfur is the same as the element on the periodic table.\
\
Most of the sulfur that we get in our diet comes attached to amino acids (mainly cysteine and methionine). **When protein intakes are adequate, sulfur intakes are too.** Therefore, no recommended daily intake of sulfur has been established.\

\
Nonetheless, sulfur can be found in vegan whole food sources, including:\
nuts, seeds, whole grains, legumes, allium vegetables, cruciferous vegetables, and leafy green vegetables.\
\
For example: onions, chickpeas, couscous, oats, and walnuts.
